About Madhu

Madhu Sravanthi Garikipati is a distinguished composer and music director whose work serves as a bridge between the rich traditions of Indian classical music and the contemporary global cinematic landscape. Born into a celebrated musical lineage in Hyderabad, India, Madhu began her formal training at the age of four under her father, the renowned Carnatic and Light music vocalist and composer Sri G.V. Prabhakar. This foundational mastery enabled her to begin producing and composing original works by the age of eleven.

Global Partnerships:

Madhu’s recent career milestones reflect her significant impact within the international entertainment and advertising sectors:

  • Paramount & MTV: Selected as a fellow for the Paramount and MTV First Time Composers initiative. In collaboration with 5 Alarm Music, she produced three original songs, demonstrating a sophisticated ability to deliver high-caliber compositions for major global studio platforms.
  • High-Impact Advertising: Madhu composed the original music for the University of Utah’s television commercials, which aired nationally during the Fox Big Noon Kickoff. The campaign reached a massive audience, yielding over 4 million views.
  • West One Music Group, London: Working with the Asia Records Collective, Madhu produced a 10-track concept album inspired by the nostalgic, cinematic textures of 1950s Indian classical music, blending archival elegance with modern production standards.

Her discography spans a vast stylistic spectrum, from Bollywood and South Indian Light music to Western orchestral and pop. Madhu’s work has been featured in:

  • Feature Films & Digital Media: Notable credits include the feature film Valliddarimadhya and the acclaimed web series Love@65 and Merevaru.
  • Iconic Collaborations: She has collaborated with a "who's who" of the Indian music industry, including the legendary S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Oscar-winning lyricist Chandrabose, and renowned directors such as K. Raghavendra Rao and V.N. Aditya.

Before focusing exclusively on composition and music direction, Madhu was a prominent voice in the musical community, hosting Beyond Borders on WTJU (91.1 FM) and Made In India on Radio Surabhi 104.9 FM. She also served as a production assistant for Tell Us a Tale with Peter Jones.

Madhu continues to craft immersive auditory experiences that resonate across borders, marrying technical precision with profound emotional depth.
